Happy Friday guys! We're over half way through another wonderful week on planet Earth and I hope that you guys are LOVING the weather and soaking up the sun just as much as I am (accompanied by a strong SPF, of course).
Speaking of the weather, there's never been such an idyllic period for entertaining and feeding a large number of family and friends which is, undoubtedly, an absolute pleasure. Well, that's until that one embarrassing auntie shows up (come on, we've all got one) and, of course, the awful moment at which we figure out just how much drinks for 18 people is actually going to cost.
Let me provide you with a quick statistic: 82% of people agree that many modern food and drink trends are ridiculously expensive, with nearly 60% of adults believing the craze of OTT mocktails has got out of hand. Therefore, for today's post, I've decided to share with you my solution to this problem: J2O Spritz.
Having launched in 2015, J2O Spritz is part of the popular Britvic owned J2O range, specialising in exclusive adult soft drinks, and currently boasts two delicious, fruity flavours that I've kindly been given the opportunity to try out and share with you guys. So, without, further ado, let the taste test commence!
Apple & Watermelon*
When I think of Summer, my brain immediately pictures these two fruits; they're light and fresh, making them the perfect accompaniment to a heavy, salty meal such as a barbecue. The flavours don't clash in any way, shape or form but rather come together in the most harmonious of fashions on the palette, creating a wonderfully crisp and clean taste.
Pear & Raspberry*
This is, admittedly, my favourite of the two (I'm obsessed with raspberries in general so that'll be why); in addition to the fruit combination being spot on, this delivers the perfect balance between sweet and tart, which is rare to find as most brands insist on numbing the palette by overloading their soft drinks with sugar. However, this is definitely the way to go as the natural flavours of both fruits come through beautifully.
Now, at this point, you guys are probably loving the sound of these in terms of taste but, due to the fact that I mentioned it several times earlier on, you should be able to tell that that the price is another relatively enticing aspect of any J2O Spritz purchase; they're very affordable. The J2O website itself even allows you to compare prices and deals in different supermarkets before you make that all important decision - my favourite deal at the moment is from Tesco, as they're offering a case of six of these babies (each bottle is 275ml) for just £3.00. If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is. You can also buy 750ml bottles of these if you prefer going down the 'help yourselves' route (or if you're just excessively greedy like yours truly).
To conclude, if you're looking to cut down the cost of drinks at your next function without sacrificing on the quality of what you're serving, I couldn't recommend these two flavours of J2O Spritz more. At 55 calories per bottle (yes, just when you thought they couldn't get any better), they are serious crowd pleasers amongst both the adult and adolescent communities - when it comes down to it, you simply can't go wrong.
Thank you so much for reading this post on my new favourite beverages (that isn't a joke - I'm most likely sipping on one as you're reading); these will put a smile on your face without putting a dent in your wallet and, in life, that's the aim, right?
* The products marked with an asterisk have been gifted to me, free of charge, for review. However, all opinions on them are strictly honest.
Have you got your hands on either of these two J2O Spritz flavours yet? If not, are you tempted to give them a go?
Pop me the answers to the above questions in the comment section below, along with any other questions, feedback or opinions you'd like to share with me - this is an open forum! Also, if you'd like to help me out even more, don't hesitate to follow this blog by email in order to receive a notification each time I upload a brand new post!
Until next time,
