How to Pack like a Pro for Your Next Business Trip
Business trips often involve a number of stressors, and it can be hard to predict what will come up while you’re away from home. Work responsibilities are often enough on their own without the additional worries involved in coming up with the perfect outfits.
Traveling light is important for your comfort and convenience throughout a trip, but it’s sometimes tough to know how to cut down on your luggage. These tips will ensure that you have everything you need throughout your business trip without overpacking or taking anything you won’t end up using.
Stick to Outfits You Trust
Trying out unique outfits and combinations is always tempting, especially if you have new pieces you’re excited to wear. For example, if you’ve just received a summer subscription box, you may want to bring some of your new items along. But, a business trip usually isn’t the right time to start experimenting with your wardrobe. You should prioritize professionalism and reliability over your most fashion-forward clothing.
Instead, pack only clothes that you’ve worn enough times to know you’ll feel comfortable in during important meetings and events. Not having to worry about wearing something for the first time will remove some unnecessary stress from your upcoming business trip.
Don’t Mix and Match

Bringing coordinated outfits also ensures that you wear everything you bring and don’t waste any of your limited packing space. Pick two or three looks that you’ve worn in the past and that are versatile enough for different events throughout the day.
Wear Your Work Clothes at Night
You probably change into different clothes before going out at home, but packing twice as many outfits will take up a lot of space in a small suitcase. Look for outfits that you can transition from days at work to nights out.

Thank you so much for reading this wonderful little guest post! My content will be back ASAP (I've got some crackers coming up for you guys within the next couple of weeks - watch this space, I tell you!) but it's always lovely to read and learn about a field that I, personally, can't do a lot of commenting on because, when I pack, I'm always 50kg over the limit at the airport, thus meaning I have to wear every article of clothing I own just to be able to board the flight.
Are you an efficient packer? If not, will you be using these tips to help you?
Let me know in the comment section below along with anything else you feel like chiming in on, whether it be a question, a criticism or just general feedback - I'd love to know what's on your mind! Of course, I never fail to mention it, following this blog would be an excellent additional choice before you leave because, that way, you don't have to miss out on my future content. Believe me, the closer we get to Summer, the juicier it's going to get!
Until next time,

These are wonderful tips. My husband and I travel for business and quick trips fairly frequently -- definitely love the don't mix and match tip. It's so much easier to layout your clothes before you go!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you agree with these! I'm definitely going to have to start creating outfits before packing them instead of shoving in the nearest pair of jeans and T Shirt I like! x

I don't travel for business, but these are all awesome tips! Thanks so much for sharing, will pin this post.

I started managing packing slowly. Earlier I used to carry big two bags. Now I use only one small bag. I have the habit of mix and match but I plan it before.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a hell of a lot better than me then - I'm glad you've managed to teach yourself good habits overtime hun! x
DeleteLots of love,

Great tips! Packing light is a struggle for me! But then again, I usually don't go on business trips and most of my travels are for leisure and with my son in tow. :)
ReplyDeleteAwe, I hope you and your son enjoy those trips! And yes, you can join the club then because, girl, I pack everything but the blooming kitchen sink! x

I always tend to overpack when I visit my family. I grab one large suitcase and then pack at least two more outfits for each kid than they need. It just makes me feel better knowing they're there.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with that Brittany because you never know what could go down - when I was a child, I pretty much got every outfit I packed wet or muddy so backups were required! x

I am thankful that i stumbled on this post. I have a business trip coming soon so this is perfect. Thanks for the tips.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad - let me know if you do end up giving any of these tips a try to improve your packing! x

Unfortunately, I always overpack. I feel like I’m going to need something and not have it. I’ll have to follow these tips next time.
ReplyDeleteHaha, don't worry darl, you're literally me - as much as I try to follow these tips, I will DEFINITELY overpack on my next trip. x

These are some really great tips. i have done some traveling in my life, but this is a huge advantage! Thanks!

Wearing work clothes for a night out does make things so much more simple. You have to have very versatile clothes on a trip or else you will end up taking way too much space.
ReplyDeleteExactly, versatility is key David - I reuse clothes on nights out too so I always make sure I choose multifunctional garments. x
DeleteLots of love,
Marina Rosie x
Great tips and I love each one of them. Will definitely make use of it. Excellent post.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a wonderful comment Lydia, thank you so much, I'm stoked you enjoyed! x

Such a great and very detailed post. This could help me a lot when packing my things when I have travel.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - I agree, Box Of Style did a great job with this one! x

I love traveling and one thing I have learned is to bring things that is only needed. Clothes, water, medicines is what I only bring,
ReplyDeleteI honestly wish I could be a bit more like you because, of course, as a beauty blogger, my skincare and makeup occupies quite a large space when I'm travelling. x

When packing for a business trip, I make sure that I stick to outfits I trust. I never want to go all sophisticated and experiment a lot with my outfits. So at least, that keeps my package less.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good tip Dalene and one that I'll probably have to integrate into my packing as I tend to pack new clothes, not knowing what they look like with my other clothes, and hate them when they're on!
DeleteLots of love,
Marina Rosie x
I've only been to a few business trips in the past. Most of my travels now are just leisure with my husband or with my whole family. But these are great tips!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love a family trip or a getaway with friends! x
DeleteLots of love,

Cool tips! Packing is always such a great deal for me. The worst part is that after packing I don't actually want to wear anything that I packed lol I'm definitely changing my packing style hahaha

I feel you there Candace - I'm one of those typical girls in movies that gets frustrated and says they've got "nothing nice to wear" when in reality I've packed the whole wardrobe! x

I love this post, in case of packing for 3 day I pack for almost a week worth of clothes. So I need to these tips.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I totally do that too, don't worry - If I'm going away for 9 days, I'll pack for a month! x

I am not an executive type of person. So if I go on a business trip, I pack one outfit for the particular event. Then all the rest, I just wear my usual shabby chic get up.
ReplyDeleteThat is a smart way to do it to be honest! I love the sound of your shabby get up - I couldn't rock stuff like that so I'm kind of envious! xx

Such great tips for those that work away xx
