Kiko Milano is one of those brands that I can feel comfortable with giving my money to in large quantities; I'm normally very impressed with their products (there are always a few exceptions, of course) and I DEFINITELY get the most out of my money. The prices are low and the quality is generally quite high so a heavy makeup consumer, like me, can't really ask for much more than that.
So, for today's post, I'm going to be exploring their eyeshadows with you guys, but not just any eyeshadows: SHIMMER ones! I love a good sparkle in any eye look; I'm obsessed. However, during my recent splurge on Kiko Milano's website, I picked up A LOT of shadows, all in different forms and as part of different ranges. Want the scoop on which range provides the most blinding shimmers? Well, keep on reading to find out!
Pigment Loose Eyeshadow (10+18)
Now, I'm not normally a loose pigment kind of girl; I find it to be too messy and too much hassle. However, when I saw these little gems on sale on Kiko's website, I snagged them as fast as I could and, truthfully, I don't regret it.
With the mixing solution, these are really easy to put together, ready for application. The technique I use is as follows: after pouring a small amount of mixing solution out into the cap, I dip my brush into the liquid, then straight into the jar of pigment. Apply to the eye and FEEL IT.
The product takes about 30 seconds to dry, but once it has dried, it can be slightly stubborn in terms of the way it blends out with other shadows. But have we got that dazzle factor?
Well, I must say, I'm not disappointed! Here, as you guys can see, we have the two shades swatched. I'm especially happy with how the top shade came out; these gorgeous pink reflective and vanilla hued shimmers definitely pack a punch and, when applied to the eye, look stunning.
So, for the Pigment Loose Eyeshadow, I'm proud to award a 'Dazzle Factor' rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars!
Eyeshadow (102)
Yes, this range is just called 'eyeshadow' but despite it's simple, plain name, the shadows are wonderful. I do own several mattes from the range, but for the shimmer focus, I have this beautiful bronzed gold shade for you guys.
I must say, since the moment I swatched this baby on my finger, I've been IN LOVE with it. After one swipe, I found that the pigmentation was fantastic and at a level that I tend to see solely amongst high end brands. Therefore, due to the fact that this shimmer is a joy to work with carries a great deal of pigment, I simply have to award it a 4 out of 5 stars for it's 'Dazzle Factor'.
If I've ever blinded you whilst wearing this shade, my apologies, it wasn't intentional...
Water Eyeshadow (202)
These were the shadows I was so eager to test out; they are raved about by many beauty gurus! That meant that, despite the fact that they weren't on sale, I had to pick one up to see what the fuss was all about.
The packaging and the pattern of the shadow is absolutely to die for; I'm a sucker for makeup that's aesthetically pleasing, so this one is right up my street. However, in terms of shimmer and pigmentation, being the most expensive out of the three ranges, I expected a bit more than what I got in terms of quality, to say the least.
The colour is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, however, the texture is slightly powdery and the shimmer is quite sheer. If they use this formula as a highlighter, they would FOR SURE have a bestseller, however, as an eyeshadow, it just doesn't take the cake for me.
'Dazzle Factor': 3 stars out of 5!
Conclusion: If you ever find yourself in the mood for a little Kiko Milano shopping spree, save some dosh and opt for the shimmer shades from their regular 'Eyeshadow' range. The name may be boring but the quality of the shadows is the exact opposite. Now go out there and show the world how you can blind!
I really hope you guys enjoyed this post and found it ever so useful; I'm 100% sure that this evaluation will come in handy in the near future.

You should definitely pick something up. By the way, my camera is very HD; in real life, the loose pigments aren't as blinding as they seem. They are still lovely though xx

All these shadows are so gorgeous Marina! I've yet to try anything from this brand but now you've got me curious! The embossing for the water eyeshadow does look beautiful, it's a shame that it's the most expensive yet least pigmented one :(
ReplyDeleteJenny // Geeky Posh
Yes Jenny, I was quite disappointed because, on an aesthetic level, the water shadow will always win but it lacks slightly in terms of quality. Do try out Kiko, their products are very affordable yet I've found so many things I like! xx

I actually would like to try out the Loose Pigment Eyeshadow. However, the only disadvantage would be the amount of effort it would taketo remove such eyeshadow, with the fact that it's glittery.

Yes, I agree, it is quite stiff and stubborn once applied but a good oil based cleanser wil do the job! xx
