Mac's speciality, Prep and Prime Fix + spray, is surely a staple in every makeup lovers collection. But why? For today's post, you're going to discover the many roles this little stand out product can fulfil within your beauty routine and a how I like to make use of mine.
Under your base:
Before applying my primer and foundation, I always rehydrate my face with a spritz of Fix Plus. It's cooling, refreshing and soothes my dry skin for a much easier and smoother makeup application process.
On your makeup sponge:
When I lightly soak my beauty blender/ makeup sponge in Fix Plus (there's really no need to drench it or else the product will run out rather quickly!) besides swelling up and becoming bouncy and supple, it creates a gorgeous, dewy and, most importantly, skin-like finish to my foundation. It definitely leaves the skin looking and feeling soft and gives a glowy complexion.
To intensify pigment:
Fix plus is an amazing way to make any kind of eyeshadow, highlighter or shimmer based pigment come alive and appear a WHOLE lot more vibrant. Just spritz a small amount onto your brush, dip into your shade and FEEL IT. If you haven't tried this technique yet, you'll definitely be thanking me later.
To dilute the consistency of products:
Do you have a foundation/concealer that you're struggling to work with due to its thickness? Well, the simple solution is to add a few squirts of Fix Plus into the bottle/container, which will slightly loosen up the product and thin it out to the desired consistency. The same thing applies to mascara or eyeliner that appears to be drying out and lacking in pigment; pull out that Fix Plus and it will be as good as new within seconds.
To finish off that cake:
Sometimes, once your makeup is complete, you may get the impression that your skin looks very unnatural and cakey; this is just generally what happens when you really cake that face and do a Patrick Star. Your skin DID not invite this bitch to come to the party. However, this can be prevented by a spritz of Fix Plus after your makeup's finished; the Fix Plus helps the makeup to sink into the skin and look like it's supposed to be there, rather than just a layer of unwanted, uncalled for product on top of the face. This step can be repeated throughout the day, if desired. For me, I find that I absolutely adore the fresh, cooling feeling it gives to my skin.
Thanks so much for reading; I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post as much as I did making it! This is what I do with my Fix Plus; what do YOU do with yours? Omg, I'm always stocking up on these. I think I have about three bottles at the moment. I just don't wanna run out lol. I like using fix plus for my eyeshadows but I've never used it in my mascara. I'll add a little next time it runs out. Thanks! x
ReplyDeleteYou should! It might save you buying a mascara or two; my mascaras tend to last a lot longer when I use this trick! xx Yass girl, you NEVER want to let that stock go down! x Thanks for reading,

I really like those makeup colours. I do not own a prime fix just because I don't exactly wear makeup but my cousin is a beauty vlogger so I'll definitely recommend this product to her.

Love the Mac Fix+, I need to restock on it ASAP as I just finished my last bottle. I've used it to set my makeup in the past and I agree, it makes it look much more natural, plus it helps the makeup last longer. I need to try using it on my beauty blender and makeup brushes next time, the difference in the color payoff is incredible!
